    Description
    Students will be exposed to essential information about the aftermarket, its history, scope, market channels, customers, and trends. Sessions will be facilitated by experienced aftermarket professionals from key market segments as well as Northwood University faculty.
    Students will take a guided tour of a high-volume traditional warehouse distributor as well as participate in other industry specific experiential learning.
    Throughout Aftermarket 101 key industry leaders will identify current and future trends, share their story of how they joined the aftermarket, how their career progressed, and discuss the employment opportunities in our industry.
    Northwood University professionals will discuss educational opportunities and our Industry designations - ACP, AAP, MAAP, and GAAE - that are available to all aftermarket team members through our University of the Aftermarket.

    Outcomes
    Develop a firm knowledge of the breadth, depth, and scope of the Motor Vehicle Aftermarket.
    Students will be able to diagram and illustrate the channels of retail, e-commerce, and traditional distribution.
    Ability to differentiate and interpret how key industry players contribute to our Industry.
    Discuss key initiatives and market strategies within the Heavy-Duty Aftermarket.
    Examine the challenges and opportunities facing fleets and commercial vehicle distribution and service network with an understanding of developing a professional sales network.
    Learn to distinguish themselves from the competition and dominate the marketplace.
